Prosecutors Seek Evidence from Miami Hotel in Diddy Probe: Report

Federal investigators are intensifying their probe into Diddy, with recent developments including a grand jury subpoena issued to a Miami hotel. According to a TMZ report published on August 31, prosecutors from the Southern District of New York are seeking documents and other evidence linked to the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment.

Both Diddy and his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy, are mentioned in the subpoena. Investigators are requesting the hotel to provide reservation records related to Diddy, Ms. Joy, and other associates dating back to January 1, 2008. The requested details cover check-in and check-out dates, room numbers, guest amenities and requests, and billing information such as room service charges.

Additionally, federal prosecutors are seeking email and mailing addresses, phone numbers, and payment methods like cash and credit card records. They have also asked for computer IP addresses, login credentials, copies of ID documents, and vehicle information of the involved parties. Surveillance footage from the hotel is also on the list of requested evidence.

Efforts to reach Diddy’s representative for comment by XXL were not immediately successful.

In another legal matter, Diddy’s lawyers recently filed a motion to dismiss Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones’ lawsuit alleging sexual abuse. According to documents obtained by XXL on August 26, Diddy’s legal team argues that Jones’ lawsuit, which was amended in March to accuse Diddy of sex trafficking and being part of a “RICO enterprise,” is merely a commercial dispute being exploited into a sensationalized conspiracy theory.

The legal team described Jones’ nearly 100-page lawsuit as filled with “tall tales, shameless celebrity namedrops, and irrelevant images.” They assert that Jones fails to present any legitimate claims against Diddy or his associates in the lawsuit.

Jones’ allegations of sex trafficking were strongly refuted by Diddy’s team, who argue that Jones did not present himself as a victim of “any commercial sex act.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone published on August 27, Jones spoke about his ongoing legal issues with Diddy. He characterized the 54-year-old music mogul as a “monster” who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Jones said Diddy once remarked to him, “I’ll smack my mama,” which Jones considered a sign of Diddy’s ruthless nature.

“For someone whose brand is Love Records, and who has changed their name to Love, he doesn’t show love,” Jones claimed. “He’s just marketing.”
