Quavo and Lenny Kravitz Rock Out in “FLY” Music Video

Quavo and Lenny Kravitz team up to deliver an electrifying performance in the newly released music video for “FLY.” The track is a modern rendition of Kravitz’s 1998 smash hit “Fly Away.” Directed by Jake Nava, the video captures the two artists as they give a full-throttle performance, all portrayed in a striking black-and-white palette punctuated by bright flashes to enhance the song’s energy.

The song kicks off with Quavo’s signature lyrical prowess, “Flyest in the room, who flyer than you? Flyest in the room, you just passed the moon. Highest of the high, higher like the view,” establishing a high-energy vibe from the outset. Lenny Kravitz’s contributions are felt throughout, as he lends his vocals to both the hook and background, seamlessly blending their unique musical styles.

“FLY” follows the release of “Tough,” a pop-infused track featuring Lana Del Rey that dropped last month. These recent collaborations signal a fresh creative direction for Quavo, who is now frequently joining forces with notable artists from various genres beyond Hip-Hop and R&B. His last solo album, Rocket Power, came out in 2023, and he has hinted at new projects on the horizon, including a posthumous release from Takeoff.

Explaining his plans, Quavo said, “The next project I’m going to be working on is the Rocket’s. You know what I’m saying? Takeoff. I’m gathering a whole bunch of information, gathering a lot of producers, gathering a lot of my friends, a lot of the artists. And we’re going to make this album one of the craziest albums of all time.”

Beyond his music, Quavo has also been active in political spheres. Last month, he appeared alongside Vice President Kamala Harris at her first campaign rally in Atlanta as she gears up for the presidential race. This partnership builds on their earlier meeting in September 2023, when they discussed pressing issues such as gun violence and gun control.

“One of these issues that I care about is resolving the gun violence issues,” Quavo told an enthusiastic audience at the recent rally. He emphasized the importance of firsthand experience in understanding the complexities of gun violence, stating, “You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you’re not in the field or in the heart of it. So, one thing I learned from working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business. From inviting me to the White House last year to discuss these solutions, to passing the biggest gun safety laws today.”

Quavo expressed his continued support for Harris, “So, it’s only right in the birthplace of the culture is also the same place to launch the first African-American woman to run for president.” His involvement highlights not only his commitment to his craft but also his dedication to social and political causes.

As Quavo continues to bridge different musical genres and engage in political activism, fans eagerly await what he has in store next, both in his music career and his ongoing efforts to make meaningful societal changes.
