Queen Camilla Adopts Kate Middleton’s Signature Move at Royal Event
It’s evident that Queen Camilla has often taken cues from Princess Catherine’s playbook. Just last month, the queen mirrored the princess’s well-known parenting strategy during the National Literacy Trust Charity’s 30th anniversary event. Similarly, in 2022, Camilla emulated her daughter-in-law by leaving surprise gifts around the U.K., reminiscent of Kate Middleton’s initiative of hiding copies of her photography book across the country. Recently, the 77-year-old royal adopted yet another signature move of Middleton’s.
On Saturday, Queen Camilla attended the fourth day of the Sky Bet Ebor Festival at York Racecourse donning a chic coat dress from Fiona Clare Couture, a coordinating white hat, and beige pumps. While her elegant outfit was noteworthy, I couldn’t help but notice a familiar gesture.

In a close-up shot, Queen Camilla is seen briefly adjusting her curls by pushing them back with her fingers—a move often spotted with Middleton.
For instance, Kate Middleton was seen doing a similar hair adjustment during the Wimbledon finals last month. She used her fingers to tuck away her hair in a manner strikingly similar to Camilla’s recent gesture.

Moreover, in 2022, during her attendance at the Wimbledon Championships at The All England Tennis Club, Middleton also used both hands to adjust her hair while seated next to her husband, Prince William, in the Royal Box.

Interestingly, Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla aren’t the only royals who exhibit this hair adjustment gesture. The Princess of Wales’s eldest son, Prince George, has also been seen using this signature move. In May, at the English FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, the young royal was spotted adjusting his hair with his hand, much like his mother.
As a royal fan noted on Twitter, this move may be becoming more popular within the royal family.
Kate Middleton’s signature gestures seem to be gaining traction day by day.
