Rapper and Producer Beatking from Texas Reportedly Dead at 39

Texas hip-hop fans are in mourning today. It has been reported that “Then Leave” musician Beatking has passed away at the age of 39.

Beatking, whose real name was Justin Riley, was a proud representative of Houston, Texas. He rose through the state’s underground music scene to become a staple in its vibrant club scene. As news of his untimely passing circulated on social media, many supporters found the announcement difficult to believe.

Nevertheless, the sad news was confirmed by his manager, Tasha Felder, in a statement posted to Instagram.

“Today, August 15, 2024, we have lost Beatking,” she wrote. “BeatKing has been the best part of the club for over a decade. He has produced and worked with so many artists that his sound will forever live.”

Felder concluded the note by highlighting the things Beatking cherished the most. “He loved his daughters, his music, and his fans,” she wrote. “We will love him forever.”

Artists such as 2 Chainz, Moneybagg Yo, Erica Banks, and Armani Caesar have been among Beatking’s collaborators over the years.

Tributes and condolences from across the music community are expected to pour in, honoring the legacy of this influential recording artist, producer, and songwriter.
