Ravi Teja Talks After Co-Star Gets Injured and Undergoes Surgery on Set

Actor and producer Ravi Teja is currently recovering after sustaining an injury during the filming of his upcoming movie, RT 75. The 56-year-old actor was hospitalized and underwent surgery on August 23 at Yashoda Hospitals in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The injury involved a muscle tear in his right hand, as reported by his team.

“Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja recently sustained a muscle tear in his right hand during the filming of RT 75. Despite the injury, he continued to shoot, which unfortunately led to further aggravation,” Teja’s representative said in a statement. The statement further explained, “Yesterday, he underwent a successful surgery at Yashoda Hospitals and as per medical advice, he has been prescribed six weeks of bed rest to ensure a complete recovery.”

The news of Teja’s hospitalization prompted an outpouring of support and well-wishes from his fans. One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “praying for your speedy recovery #Raviteja.” Another fan posted, “wishing you a quick recovery. Get better and get back to your amazing self soon.”

Following the successful surgery, Ravi Teja provided an update on August 24, informing fans that he has been discharged from the hospital. “After a smooth surgery, I am feeling fine and grateful for all your warm blessings and support,” the actor said. He added, “I am excited to be back on set soon,” although the exact date of his return remains uncertain.

The upcoming film RT 75 (working title) will mark Ravi Teja’s 75th movie. The project was initially announced in April with a poster that promised to “bring back the typical Mass Maharaja on Big screens with his impeccable energy, comedy, foot-tapping dance numbers, and loads of action.” Filming for the movie, which also stars Sreeleela, began in June, though specific details about the plot remain under wraps.

The film RT 75 is being directed by debutant Bhanu Bhogavarapu and produced by Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments in association with Sai Soujanya’s Fortune Four Cinemas, according to The Hindu. Navin Nooli serves as the editor while Vidhu Ayyanna is the cinematographer.

This project marks Ravi Teja’s next venture following his appearance in Eagle, a 2024 Indian Telugu-language action thriller directed by Karthik Gattamneni. Ravi Teja’s illustrious career includes notable films such as Khadgam, Neninthe, Disco Raja, and Krishna: The Power of Indrakeeladri, among numerous others, as listed on his IMDb profile.
