Ravyn Lenae teams up with Childish Gambino on new single ‘One Wish’

Ravyn Lenae has unveiled a new single titled ‘One Wish,’ featuring Childish Gambino. This release follows Donald Glover’s final album under the Childish Gambino moniker, which dropped just a week prior.

‘One Wish’ is part of Lenae’s upcoming sophomore album, ‘Bird’s Eye,’ expected to be released on August 9 via Atlantic Records. Fans can pre-order and pre-save the album on digital platforms now.

This marks the fourth single from ‘Bird’s Eye,’ following tracks such as ‘Love Is Blind,’ ‘Love Me Not,’ and ‘Dream Girl,’ which features Ty Dolla $ign. After the release of ‘One Wish,’ Glover shared on social media that he worked on another track with Lenae and hopes to release it in the future.

Glover’s contributions don’t stop at ‘One Wish.’ Recently, he released an unsettling music video for ‘Lithonia,’ the first single from his final album, ‘Bando Stone and The New World.’ This album, serving as the official soundtrack for a forthcoming movie with the same name, came out earlier this month. Though the film’s trailer has been revealed, an official release date is still pending.

In a four-star review for NME, Kyann-Syan Williams commented on ‘Bando Stone and The New World,’ stating: “Glover has made a record as otherworldly as his other outings. Yet, ‘Bando Stone and The New World’ stumbles slightly—where its sonic variety is exciting, it lacks a clear sense of cohesion or theme compared to his previous work—making it a bittersweet farewell to the legend of Childish Gambino.”

Ahead of the album’s release, Glover shared his reasons for retiring the Childish Gambino persona. He mentioned that portraying the rapper was no longer “fulfilling” and expressed a desire to spend more time on his personal life and other ventures after experiencing the death of his father and the birth of his children.
