Reba McEntire, 69, shares a sweet photo of her mom for a special occasion

Like mother, like daughter! Reba McEntire has shared an adorable snap of her beloved mama with fans in honor of National Book Lovers Day. The picture reveals the heartwarming similarity between Reba and her mother, Jacqueline.

The touching photo shows Jacqueline sitting on an outcrop with her head tucked in a book. Reba has her head resting on her mom’s lap, creating a beautiful, intimate moment that speaks volumes about their bond.

In honor of the occasion, Reba captioned the picture, “Today is #NationalBookLoversDay and I couldn’t think of a better day to celebrate my Mama! She loved reading, and we created a special library of all her books @rebasplace in Atoka, OK. You can read stories about her, my family, and so much more, all in my book #NotThatFancy!”

Jacqueline passed away at the age of 93 in 2020 after a cancer diagnosis. Reba has always credited her mother with instilling in her a love for singing. “She encouraged us, we were The Singing McEntires when we were in high school, junior high,” Reba shared on the Today Show in 2022.

Earlier this year, Reba published a lifestyle book titled Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots , which she launched alongside an album of the same name.

“The book is a fun book,” Reba shared with fans. “Sometimes you have books like autobiographies that are really diving into stuff. This is just a fun book. You can look through it, you can read it front to back. It’s got recipes, stories, new pictures people haven’t seen before—talking about my family, my faith, my friends— and then recipes that are from the restaurant in Atoka, Oklahoma called Reba’s Place.”

The restaurant and bar, Reba’s Place, opened in Atoka, Oklahoma in 2023, adding another feather to Reba’s already illustrious cap.

Reba, who is reportedly worth $95 million, has not only made her mark as a country music superstar but has also branched out into television. This fall, she will continue as a mentor on NBC’s popular show, The Voice.

During NBC’s Upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall in May, it was revealed that Gwen Stefani will return to the show after a season-long break, marking her eighth stint in the chair. She will be joined by Reba, entering her third stint as a coach, along with two new musicians – hip-hop superstar Snoop Dogg and Canadian crooner Michael Bublé.
