Reba to Exit ‘The Voice’ After Season 26

Reba McEntire will be moving on to other projects after the upcoming season of The Voice airs. The iconic country star joined the show’s panel of judges in 2023, stepping in to replace Blake Shelton, who had been a fixture on the show since its inception. By the time she leaves, McEntire will have served as a judge for three seasons, making a significant impact.

Reba certainly made the most of her tenure on the show, having an immediate impact upon joining as a judge and coach. Fans have enjoyed numerous memorable moments during her time on the program.

Why is Reba leaving The Voice? It might have something to do with her busy schedule. The 69-year-old artist released an album and book titled Not That Fancy late last year. She also hosted the 2024 ACM Awards and now has a new sitcom called Happy’s Place scheduled to premiere on NBC this Fall, all while fulfilling her duties on The Voice.

You might think that a three-time Grammy-winning artist would want to slow down at some point, but it appears that Reba is busier than ever before. She seems to enjoy staying active and has a knack for putting together successful sitcoms. Her new project, while different from her beloved show from the 2000s in which she played a fictitious version of herself, will have some familiar elements—such as her co-star and real-life best friend, Melissa Peterman, being part of the cast.

Initially, Reba met rumors of her departure from The Voice by assuring fans that she wasn’t going anywhere. However, her plans and those of NBC have evidently changed, as it’s now confirmed that McEntire won’t be returning after Season 26.

But that doesn’t mean fans will be seeing any less of Reba. As mentioned earlier, the country star is busier than ever, and it’s entirely possible that she’ll release more music or another book soon, following the success of last year’s Not That Fancy. Additionally, fans will get to see her in action in Happy’s Place when it airs in October.
