Release Date for Severance Season 2 Finally Set for 2025

Finally, there’s news on the much-anticipated release of Severance Season 2. Apple TV+ recently released a clip that has fans eagerly looking forward to the new season, which is set to stream soon.

The teaser kicks off with Mark (portrayed by Adam Scott) declaring, “I give consent for the Lumon Corporation…” The scene quickly shifts to Helly (played by Britt Lower), who continues, “…to sever my memories between my work life.” The clip toggles back to Mark, finishing the statement with, “…and my personal life.”

Helly adds a grave note to her declaration, “I am aware that this alteration is comprehensive and irreversible.”

Viewers are given a glimpse inside Lumon Industries, accompanied by an eerie message suggesting that they “should have left.” The teaser wraps up by announcing that the new season will premiere on January 17, 2025.

While brief, the clip has already generated excitement among the show’s fanbase.

Severance focuses on Mark Scout (Scott), a team leader at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone a procedure to surgically separate their work and personal memories. According to the official logline, this radical take on “work-life balance” begins to unravel as Mark gets caught in a mystery that forces him to question the true nature of his job and his own identity.

Season two promises to delve deeper, with Mark and his friends experiencing the severe repercussions of meddling with the severance barrier, pushing them down an even darker path.

Alongside Adam Scott and Britt Lower, the show boasts a talented cast that includes Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, and Sarah Bock.

During a chat on Jimmy Kimmel Live with guest host Kathryn Hahan, Adam Scott admitted that he had no idea Severance would become such a hit. He recounted, “No idea. In fact, when we were making it, all the language of it — like innies and outies — and all the rules of the world and stuff…we made it in a vacuum. We made the whole thing before it ever came out. So it all seemed like people are going to think this is just so silly. And then when it came out, and people were saying innies and outies out in the real world. And we suddenly had to be super secretive about all of this stuff, it was crazy because it was, like, literally two months ago no one gave a s—t about any of this.”

He went on to say, “There’s an 80% chance people are going to think this is stupid and it’ll just immediately be forgotten. Like, you have no idea. So, we’re just eternally grateful, of course, but also it was just strange when it all happened.”

Although Scott couldn’t divulge many details about Season 2, he did share a few elusive photos. These images included a shot of a shoulder and possibly a lanyard, as well as a photo of his chin. The pictures seemed to suggest that much about the upcoming season remains under wraps.

For those eager to catch up with the story, the wait continues until January 2025, when Severance Season 2 finally hits Apple TV+.
