Report: CBS Execs Furious with Tom Selleck Over ‘Blue Bloods’ Cancellation Remarks

Rumors about the cancellation of Blue Bloods continue to circulate. CBS executives are reportedly unhappy with Tom Selleck following the show’s cancellation, and the issue appears to be linked to Selleck’s 63-acre ranch in Ventura County. He has owned this property since 1988, and speculation suggests he could lose it now that the show is no longer airing, especially if he stops working. Selleck is allegedly making sure CBS is aware of his concerns.

According to sources who spoke with Closer, the 79-year-old actor has been vocal about the potential loss of his ranch, claiming the cancellation could “put him in the poorhouse.” Despite these claims, CBS executives are unconvinced, armed with the knowledge of Selleck’s substantial earnings. Over the show’s run, he earned an impressive $200,000 per episode, totaling about $56 million, excluding residuals from reruns.

Selleck’s behavior is reportedly causing frustration among CBS executives, particularly because he earns significantly more than the crew and staff. “Many of these hardworking individuals reportedly make less than $100,000 a year, facing uncertainty and financial strain as the show comes to an end,” a source revealed. “Tom is an entitled brat. Hundreds of people are facing unemployment when the show wraps. Most of them will struggle to make ends meet—while Tom complains about the upkeep of his lavish 63-acre ranch. Give me a break!”

Selleck has previously expressed that he is not ready to say goodbye to Blue Bloods and would love another season, a sentiment shared by many fans. CBS is reportedly regretting the decision to cancel the series, and Selleck’s alleged behavior could be adding to that regret. The cancellation is difficult for fans to process, and with final episodes premiering in less than two months, it’s only going to get harder.

It’s still uncertain whether there will be a Blue Bloods movie or another series in the future. However, if the reports about Selleck’s conduct are accurate, this might further alienate CBS from him and the series. Nothing has been decided yet, so fans will have to tune in to the final episodes of Blue Bloods premiering on Friday, Oct. 18 at 10 p.m. ET. Selleck may not be the only one acting out if the Reagans are truly over and done with.
