Report: Jimmy Fallon Devastated by Career Setback

Jimmy Fallon continues to entertain audiences as the host of The Tonight Show, but his recent musical project didn’t meet expectations. Fallon collaborated with Meghan Trainor to create an original song for Jerry Seinfeld’s film Unfrosted, a comedic take on the invention of Pop-Tarts. The track, titled “Sweet Morning Heat,” was anticipated to become a hit, similar to Ryan Gosling’s viral song “I’m Just Ken” from the Barbie movie. Unfortunately, the song and the film haven’t made a significant cultural impact.

“Jimmy didn’t do this song just because he worships Jerry Seinfeld. He was also interested in landing a genuine chart-topping novelty hit — and that hasn’t happened,” said an anonymous source quoted in the July 8 issue of The National Enquirer. “Jimmy has no regrets. But it hurts that the song — and the movie–didn’t turn into the massive sensation he was expecting. Ryan Gosling made a fortune off ‘I’m Just Ken’ — but Jimmy will be lucky to realize the price of a nice dinner from his participation for making the song!”

The movie Unfrosted hasn’t fared well critically either. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film only has positive reviews from 42 percent of critics and 51 percent of viewers.

“A lot of comedians participated in this movie expecting to benefit from Jerry’s golden touch,” the source said. “But the movie’s corny humor has divided Jerry’s fan base big-time — and Jimmy’s feeling that.”

Neither Fallon nor Seinfeld has responded to The National Enquirer‘s report as of press time.
