‘RHOBH’ Star Erika Jayne Realizes Her Marriage Wasn’t Real

RHOBH star Erika Jayne has recently admitted that her two-decade marriage to attorney Tom Girardi was never “real.” She split from him in 2020 and tried to move on with her life but never realized the hurdles ahead. Now, she is opening up more about their union, revealing it was quite disingenuous all along.

When Erika Jayne first stepped onto the RHOBH scene, her co-stars were stunned. She was a blonde bombshell in her early forties who seemingly had everything. Her style was impeccable, she was a chart-topping music star, and she was rich. Plus, her husband was a successful lawyer, thirty-three years older than her. That shocked everyone but it made sense how she could live so lavishly and follow her dreams without any budget constraints. There were some questions, like why her husband, Tom Girardi, hadn’t read her book and why he was not present at the opening night of her Broadway debut.

Eventually, on voting day in 2020, Erika filed for divorce, hoping the election would overshadow her leaving Tom. It did not, and everyone was curious. Then, it came out that Tom had stolen from his clients and was essentially broke. Erika was implicated, turning her life into a nightmare. She had to rebuild her life and career and is now speaking up about the marriage and the truth behind it all. According to People, she shared her experience dealing with his infidelity on the Two Ts In A Pod podcast.

Erika Jayne admitted she ignored a lot of the drama because she did not want to deal with it:

“You start ignoring the snide comments or you start ignoring the fights. You just kind of want to keep the peace. I don’t know if that’s turning a blind eye. I mean, in some cases, sure. I definitely looked the other way when I knew Tom had other women in his life just because I didn’t feel like dealing with it.”

Ultimately, the 53-year-old believed the marriage was brushed off and, despite popular opinion, she did love her husband:

“I do believe that there was a lot of contempt in my relationship from both parties at the end. Because I often felt like my marriage was pushed to the side and it wasn’t real. And there’s no possible way you could love this man [but] actually, I did.”

Erika Jayne spent a lot of time just letting things go because, as she has said on RHOBH, this was a man who supported her. However, she did reveal the infidelity and how he had talked to and about her. Yet, viewers saw how he would talk down to and silence her. She moved her stuff from the home in a day, but when victims became a part of it all, many felt she lacked compassion. Erika stated that it was all up to the legal system. She has had some victories and is still fighting but did land a Las Vegas residency, which was a big hit. More so, she will return for Season 14 of RHOBH and is said to be a great asset to Kyle Richards.

Do you think that Erika genuinely loved Tom but knew when it was time to let it go? Or, was it disingenuous all the way? Let us know in the comments below.
