In the days leading up to his death, Richard Simmons hinted at an upcoming project that would tell his life story. On July 9, he shared on X, “Getting closer to telling my story in my own words. I’m so excited!” This message sparked responses from fans, especially after news of his death broke. Many hoped that the beloved fitness guru had committed his memories to paper, with one fan writing, “I hope he wrote out his story, I’m curious to know what was going on with him the last decade.” Another added, “Oh I Want To See Your Story … I Have Been Following You [since] 1982.”

Despite his declining health, Simmons continued to use his platform to spread positivity and love, reminding his followers to cherish their time. On July 8, he wrote, “Every day I ask God to give me… another day.” A similar message was shared on June 25: “Don’t waste a moment of your life. Cherish every second every minute and every hour.”
