Richard Simmons has been laid to rest at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary. This location also serves as the final resting place for many stars, including Kirk Douglas and Marilyn Monroe. Photos of Richard’s grave show a large bouquet of roses and other flower arrangements.
This event comes shortly after his final photo circulated on social media. One of his team members shared a tribute post, which included Richard’s last message to his fans alongside a picture of him in a NASA suit. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of his passing.
Although Richard’s death has been ruled as natural, the Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are working with the Los Angeles Medical Examiner, who is conducting additional tests. Richard was active on social media just before his death and had celebrated his birthday the day prior.
Reports suggest that Richard suffered a fall in his bathroom the day before his death. Despite his housekeeper’s advice for immediate medical attention, Richard decided to wait until the weekend to avoid missing his birthday. Tragically, he went to bed and did not wake up the next day.
Richard’s warm and endearing nature has endeared him to fans for decades, even during his long absence from the public eye starting in 2016. Despite being a recluse, he continued to reach out to his fans via email, sending over 100 messages a day. During this period, he even admitted to wearing disguises whenever he appeared in public.
Just before his passing, Richard expressed immense gratitude to his fans for their early birthday wishes. He fondly reminisced about his birthday celebrations during the peak of his career, particularly the elaborate cakes he would receive at his Slimmons class, the popular fitness studio he founded in the mid-70s.
