Rolling Stones Debut a ‘Some Girls’ Classic Live in Chicago

The Rolling Stones once again proved their capacity for surprises during their second Hackney Diamonds tour show in Chicago on Sunday night. The legendary band performed a 20-song set at Soldier Field, thrilling the audience with both classics and rarities.

One of the show’s highlights was the tour debut of “Before They Make Me Run” from the 1978 album Some Girls. Keith Richards took center stage, showcasing his vocal talents on the track. This unexpected performance came right after Richards had already sung “Tell Me Straight” and “Little T&A,” two songs he frequently performs on tour.

Adding to the night’s excitement, the Stones introduced guest star Lainey Wilson. The 32-year-old Grammy-winning country artist took to the stage to perform “Dead Flowers” with the band. The inclusion of this song was particularly special, as it followed “Shattered,” which was chosen as the fan poll song of the night over “Out of Control,” “Like a Rolling Stone,” and “Live With Me.”

The current tour has seen “Dead Flowers” make a rare appearance once before. On June 3 in Orlando, the Stones performed it with another country musician, Tyler Childers.

The North American leg of the tour still has five shows left. Fans can catch the Stones in Vancouver on July 5, in Los Angeles on July 10 and 13, in Santa Clara, California, on July 17, and for the final date in Ridgedale, Missouri, on July 21.
