Rory Stewart Raises Eyebrows with Yet Another Unusual Outfit

Rory Stewart, the former international development secretary and ex-Tory MP who now co-hosts the podcast The Rest Is Politics, continues to be seen as “eccentric” and “posh” in political circles, especially with his latest fashion choice.

Stewart co-hosts The Rest Is Politics alongside former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell. The duo also present Leading, another podcast where they interview prominent figures from various fields.

In December, Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner, now the deputy prime minister, appeared on Leading. A photograph was taken of Rayner with Stewart and Campbell, which has recently resurfaced as Campbell promoted an episode of The Rest Is Politics on Thursday.

In the picture, Campbell is seen wearing a waistcoat while Rayner dons a dark blue suit jacket and dress. However, Stewart stands out in a large peacoat and turtleneck, his hands tucked into his coat pockets, sparking witty comments on social media.

Stewart seems to find the humor in it, as he has retweeted a comment likening him to a ‘U-boat commander’.

This isn’t the first time his attire has caught public attention. Late last month, his appearance on Nish Kumar and Coco Khan’s podcast Pod Save The UK led to comparisons with Harrison Ford’s Star Wars character, Han Solo.

Moreover, in May last year during King Charles’s coronation, Stewart was seen opting for food at a Pizza Express, a place notoriously linked to past comments by Prince Andrew. His outfit during the event also left social media users baffled.

Stewart later clarified that he was wearing a Privy Councillor uniform, meant for occasions like coronations, and revealed that his pizza of choice was La Reine.

Now you know.
