Roy Wood Jr. Hosts CNN’s ‘Have I Got News for You’

Roy Wood Jr. is making an eagerly awaited return to television as the host of CNN’s forthcoming comedy panel show, “Have I Got News for You.” This follows his years of experience as a correspondent on “The Daily Show” from 2015 to 2023.

CNN revealed plans for the U.S. adaptation of “Have I Got News for You” back in May. This show has been a mainstay on BBC since 1990 and features two teams of panelists who respond to questions about the week’s news. Wood humorously commented on his new role, calling it a Black job.

The show will feature two team captains, with further details from CNN expected as the premiere date nears. The BBC version includes a variety of comedians, entertainers, and political figures, promising a dynamic and entertaining format.

Wood, renowned for his three Comedy Central stand-up specials, recently drew attention for initiating the viral hashtag #WhenITurnedBlack. He posted on X, encouraging others to share their personal experiences using the hashtag. “We now know Kamala’s brave story,” Wood shared. “When did the rest of you ‘turn’ black? How old were you? Where were you when the blackness finally took over your body? Share your stories. This is a safe space. #WhenITurnedBlack.”

“Have I Got News for You” is scheduled to premiere on September 14 at 9 p.m. EST. Don’t miss this fresh comedic take on the week’s news!
