Runtime for ‘You’re Next’ Movie Revealed

My Hero Academia: You’re Next has revealed the duration of the latest My Hero Academia movie. The series is currently showcasing the final battles between heroes and villains in its new Season 7 episodes airing this Summer. Interestingly, this isn’t the only treat for fans this season. My Hero Academia will return to the big screen with its fourth feature film, bridging the events of Season 6 and Season 7 through pivotal battles against new foes.

My Hero Academia: You’re Next introduces a darker version of All Might, who leverages the turmoil in Japan caused by Tomura Shigaraki and All For One. The movie, premiering in Japan this August, is gearing up for a significant debut. As preparations for its release continue, it’s been confirmed that the film will run for one hour and 50 minutes. This extended runtime hints at a film packed with intense action and narrative depth when it hits theaters in Japan on August 12th.

The movie features My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi as the supervisor and new character designer, with Tensai Okamura directing for studio Bones. The script is penned by Yosuke Kuroda, who also wrote for the TV anime. Yoshihiko Umakoshi is back for character design, while Yuki Hayashi returns to compose the music.

The film introduces new characters and voice actors such as Kenta Miyake as Dark Might, Meru Nukumi as Anna Scervino, Mamoru Miyano as Giulio Gandini, Ken Uo as Hugo, Yuki Ono as Kamil, Minako Kotobuki as Deborah, Yusuke Kobayashi as Paulo, Michitake Kikuchi as Simon, and Masaki Terasoma as Bruno. Kohei Horikoshi has teased that the setting for My Hero Academia: You’re Next will be a society in collapse post the War from Season 6.

“It’ll take place after the War from Season 6, meaning that the collapsed society will be the stage this time. After having been through so much and learning so many things, who will Deku and his friends fight against this time? What will they protect?! Look forward to it!” Horikoshi shared.
