RuriDragon Unveils Exciting New Trailer for Volume 2 Release

RuriDragon has returned after a lengthy hiatus, and the manga is now gearing up for the release of Volume 2. First introduced in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2022, Masaoki Shindo’s RuriDragon quickly became a fan favorite because of its distinctive main character. Unfortunately, the series had to pause due to Shindo’s health issues.

Now that RuriDragon is back in Weekly Shonen Jump with new chapters throughout the year, the manga is set to release a new volume. To celebrate Volume 2’s launch in Japan (the international release date is yet to be announced), Shueisha has released a new trailer. This special trailer highlights some of the most significant moments in the series so far, offering a fresh, colored take on its best scenes.

For those interested in catching up with Masaoki Shindo’s RuriDragon, the latest chapters are available for free via Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library or Shueisha’s Manga Plus service. The series is releasing new chapters steadily, so readers shouldn’t expect any further delays soon. Though the first volume of the manga will be physically released in the United States come Spring 2025, a specific date has yet to be confirmed.

Shueisha shared a heartfelt message during the manga’s initial hiatus in 2022: "Due to the poor physical condition of Masaoki Shindo, RuriDragon will enter hiatus starting Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #35. The series was already absent from Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #33, and the editorial department sought to create a sustainable schedule while addressing the mangaka’s health issues. After various discussions with Masaoki Shindo, it was decided that it would be better for him to take a break to recover, ensuring the serialization continues under perfect conditions in the future."

The message continued, "We will inform of the series’ comeback in forthcoming Weekly Shonen Jump issues. We are very sorry to all readers looking forward to the series and who have sent comments and letters. We will do our best to bring back Ruri’s daily life, so we would appreciate your support. We look forward to your continued interest in RuriDragon.”
