Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman ‘slay’ in cheeky Deadpool 3 Bachelorette ad

In a playful cross-promotion between “Deadpool 3” and “The Bachelorette,” stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman hype their new film.

The advertisement kicks off with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine lying on a couch as romantic music sets the tone. As Jackman looks hesitant, Reynolds’ Deadpool encourages him, “Yes you can.”

Wolverine questions his purpose and is told he needs to explain to Bachelor Nation why their movie makes a perfect date night film, holding a rose. Wolverine refuses, but Reynolds insists, citing the importance of the 18-49-year-old women demographic.

Deadpool humorously claims to be in touch with Gen Z lingo, saying, “no cap.” He takes over the ad while Wolverine steps out of frame. Deadpool then addresses the audience, touting the movie’s blend of relationship dynamics, cheeky humor, and a profitable outcome for the actors.

The camera cheekily focuses on Wolverine’s behind as Deadpool gives a thumbs up. The clever crossover coincides with the twenty-first season of “The Bachelorette,” featuring Jennifer Tran.

“Deadpool 3” continues the story a few years after the last installment. Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is enlisted by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) for a critical mission affecting the entire MCU timeline. He teams up with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) to tackle a new adversary, Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin). Matthew Macfadyen joins the cast as Paradox, a TVA agent.

The film features several familiar faces from the first two “Deadpool” movies. Morena Baccarin returns as Vanessa Carlysle, Wade’s former love interest. Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, Shioli Kutsuna, and Lewis Tan all reprise their roles.

Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, originally from Fox Marvel movies, having first portrayed the character in the 2003 “Daredevil” film. Aaron Stanford and Tyler Mane return as Pyro and Sabretooth, respectively.

Director Shawn Levy, who has previously worked with both Reynolds and Jackman, helms “Deadpool 3.” He directed Jackman in “Real Steel” (2011) and Reynolds in “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project.” The script is co-written by Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.

The movie aims to rejuvenate the MCU’s box office performance, as recent releases like “Ant-Man 3” and “The Marvels” fell short, making $476 million and $206 million, respectively.
