Ryan Reynolds Jokes Blake Lively Will Divorice Him Over a 4th ‘Deadpool’

Ryan Reynolds unequivocally dismissed the possibility of a fourth Deadpool movie during his appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday, July 22. The 47-year-old actor humorously suggested that pursuing another installment might lead to significant personal consequences, including his wife Blake Lively, 36, leaving him and taking their four children: James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, 1.

When host Jimmy Fallon inquired if another sequel was in the works, the Free Guy star quickly shot down the idea. “Oh God no,” Reynolds said firmly. “My wife and children will divorce me.”

Fallon laughed and made a light-hearted comment about the children divorcing him, to which Reynolds responded candidly. He admitted if he did face a divorce, he might be in such a dire financial situation that he’d be forced to make another Deadpool movie. “I have no prenup with any of them. I will be capital ‘B’ broke, and in turn, probably then doing Deadpool 4,” Reynolds joked.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who have been married since 2012, appear to have a strong relationship, despite the actor’s jesting. In fact, Ryan recently revealed the name of their youngest child at the Deadpool and Wolverine premiere in New York on the same day. Blake also quickly addressed divorce rumors about her marriage on Instagram.

A fan’s comment praising their relationship while mentioning the rumors prompted Blake to respond. “You and Ryan need to post more of each other; there were rumors going around that you two got divorced, and I didn’t believe it because you two are literally the perfect couple,” the fan stated, according to Us Weekly.

Blake responded with confidence and humor, simply writing, “Haha they wish.”

This isn’t the first instance where Blake and Ryan have publicly shown their affection for each other. In April, Blake expressed her admiration for her husband in a heartfelt social media post. “Everything I believed as a kid did turn out to be true… his name is @vancityreynolds,” Blake wrote, adding, “He is dreamy.”
