Ryan Reynolds Jokes Taylor Swift as Babysitter Is ‘Getting Expensive’

Taylor Swift enjoys a close bond with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children — James, Inez, Betty, and their fourth, unnamed child.

The Reynolds family has long been friends with the 34-year-old singer and even attended her Eras tour.

Swift has a history of including the couple’s children’s names in her songs. The 47-year-old Deadpool actor recently joked with E! News about Swift babysitting his kids, “The cost of that is… I believe the accountant said, ‘Cost-prohibitive.’ But I think what he meant was, ‘Cost-insane-what-are-you-doing -I’m-no-longer-your-accountant.’”

This comes amidst speculation about whether Taylor or Blake will star as Lady Deadpool in Marvel’s upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, also featuring Hugh Jackman. A recent trailer revealed a blonde-haired woman in a red and black suit, sparking fan theories.

“Please be Taylor Swift as Lady Deadpool,” one fan commented on Marvel’s Instagram post.

Another fan speculated, “okay that’s Blake Lively.”

Neither rumor has been confirmed or denied, including by the film’s director Shawn Levy, who told Entertainment Tonight, “That is hardly confirmed nor denied in this interview…I’m going to literally walk out of the frame and save myself; otherwise, Ryan’s taking a hit [out] on me.”

However, Reynolds clarified to E! News, “I will say once and for all that the cameo thing with Taylor… because she’s our friend—that is not in this film.” He did not address the possibility of his wife taking the role.

“I always say that if anyone were to take over the role of Deadpool, actually Taylor would be very good… Because that’s a superpower she doesn’t show often: She’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met,” he added.

Taylor has a special place for Ryan and Blake’s kids, as she showcased them during a past performance, saying, “I have to say that on Folklore some of my favorite characters are named James, Inez, and Betty.”
