July 19 (UPI) — South Korean boy band Stray Kids has released an exciting new music video featuring Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
The K-pop group released their EP “Ate” along with the video for the single “Chk Chk Boom” on Friday, which delighted fans around the world.
In the “Chk Chk Boom” video, Hugh Jackman dons his Wolverine costume, standing in front of a weather forecast screen, while Ryan Reynolds appears as a New York news anchor.
“We have breaking news live from New York City tonight,” Reynolds declares, with a news ticker reading, “Mysterious phenomena occurring worldwide: Cause unknown, who is behind this?”
The video then transitions to Stray Kids, who perform a dynamic choreographed dance routine in the streets of New York City. The video wraps up with Reynolds, now in his Deadpool costume, humorously asking if he can join Stray Kids.
“Any chance that you’re looking for an older, less agile member, maybe?” the actor quips.
“Nah, no,” the group replies, playfully shutting down Reynolds’ request.
News surfaced on Wednesday that Stray Kids will release a new song titled “Slash” for the “Deadpool & Wolverine” soundtrack. The album is scheduled to debut on July 24, with the film’s release following on July 26.
This collaboration with Reynolds highlights a long-standing mutual admiration between the actor and Stray Kids. The relationship dates back to 2021 when the group delivered an electrifying Deadpool-inspired performance.
Stray Kids’ album “Ate” features an impressive line-up of tracks, including “Mountains,” “Jjam,” “I Like It,” “Runners,” “Twilight,” “Stray Kids,” and “Chk Chk Boom (Festival Version).” This EP is their first release since “Rock-Star” in November 2023.
Stray Kids is composed of members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N., who have continually showcased their evolving musical prowess and performance skills, captivating a global audience.
