Ryan Reynolds Reveals the Name of His and Blake Lively’s Fourth Child

Ryan Reynolds has finally revealed the name of his fourth child with Blake Lively!

On Monday, during the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine in New York City, the 47-year-old actor let it slip that he and Lively, 36, are now parents to James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, 1. Although they have shared the names of their first three daughters, the sex of their youngest child has not been disclosed yet.

“I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here,” Reynolds said while surrounded by his fellow cast members. “I want to thank my kids, James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here. I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing—that is, the contents of this movie—that happens in your wondrous life.”

After getting a wave of laughter from the audience, Reynolds continued, “I love that my entire family is here.”

This revelation answers a question that fans have been eagerly awaiting for over a year since Lively surprised the world by showing up to the 10th Annual Forbes Power Women’s Summit in September 2022 with a noticeable baby bump. Following a tense interaction with the paparazzi, which the Gossip Girl actress detailed on her Instagram, the couple went silent about their children.

However, in February 2023, fans noticed that Lively no longer had a baby bump in pictures posted to Instagram. They have remained tight-lipped about their youngest child’s name, birthdate, and sex since then.

In a humorous twist, Reynolds joked on Today earlier this year with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb that they were waiting for their good friend Taylor Swift to pick out the baby’s name. Swift has previously included the names of their older daughters—James, Inez, and Betty—in her 2020 song “Betty.”

“We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name will be,” Reynolds joked on Today. “We’re still waiting, so, Taylor, let’s maybe start, you know.”

In an interview at the premiere of If in May, Reynolds was asked by ET what they were calling their youngest while waiting for Swift’s decision. “Oh, all the letters are silent,” he quipped. “It just sort of sounds like a light breeze blowing through at this point, which is really hard if you get mad at the child for something… Yeah, it doesn’t work.”

Though Olin is most commonly associated with boys and traced back to Scandinavian roots, according to BabyNames.com, Lively and Reynolds have yet to confirm if they are parents to their first son. It’s worth noting that James is also traditionally a boy’s name, so there’s room for speculation.

During a Today appearance in November 2023, Ryan revealed they do not find out the sex of their babies before they are born. “I know girls, so I’m sort of kind of hoping that,” he said, “but I’m ready for whatever happens.”

He later told ET about their readiness to welcome baby No. 4, “We’re very excited. You’d have to be a moron to do this four times if you didn’t like it. It’s gonna be nuts, but we’re very excited.”

Aside from their growing family, both are excited about their upcoming films, Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us. ET chatted with Reynolds on Monday from the premiere, and he shared what it means to have his wife’s support going into his new movie.

“She’s amazing. She is so smart, everything I do is in lockstep with her, and now she just takes every step with me—sometimes the scary steps, sometimes the ones that are more often than not aimed right at danger,” Reynolds joked about Lively, who he married in 2012.

He added, “I am super grateful to her. She’s just so smart and so funny and really helped in like every aspect of this movie.”

Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26, and It Ends With Us premieres on August 9.
