Ryan Seacrest Shares First Day at ‘Wheel of Fortune’ in Behind-the-Scenes Video

Ryan Seacrest shared a behind-the-scenes video marking his first day on set, ahead of officially taking over as host of Wheel of Fortune this fall.

On Tuesday, July 16, the American Idol host took to Instagram to offer viewers a sneak peek, exuding first-day-of-school excitement.

“A glimpse of my first day at @wheeloffortune, and I’m still spinning with excitement!” Seacrest captioned the update.

“Listen to the sound of this wheel, right? Iconic,” Seacrest said at the beginning of the video, after spinning the famous wheel and then leaning in to take it in enjoyably. “I find it soothing,” he added.

Another clip showed Seacrest arriving at the stage and admitting, “My heart’s pounding. I’m so excited.” Upon seeing the wheel in person for the first time, he remarked, “The wheel’s maybe smaller than you’d think,” humorously adding, “As am I.”

Later in the day, he revealed, “You know, I could not sleep last night, I was so excited.”

To finish off the video, Seacrest carried a tote bag on his shoulder and a stack of notebooks while attempting to click his heels together as he jumped in the air. He then skipped away from the camera, clearly thrilled.

Instagram users flooded Seacrest’s post with enthusiastic comments, eager to see him step into the role following Pat Sajak’s final episode, which aired on June 7 after more than 40 years of hosting the beloved game show.

One fan wrote, “It’s like your first day of school, so excited!! We will miss Pat, but can’t wait to see your debut! 👏🏻.”

Another Instagram user added, “@ryanseacrest Can’t wait! You’ll be an amazing host ❤️🥰,” while another echoed, “You’re going to do amazing!!! So excited for you. Can’t wait to watch. ❤️.”

Another comment proclaimed, “You’re excited…no I’m excited! This is going to be epic…can’t wait to see you on screen again!”

Wheel of Fortune is currently airing re-runs on weekdays on ABC. However, Seacrest will officially take over for Season 42, premiering this fall. And don’t worry, Vanna White will return as well!
