Sam Heughan Thrills Fans with Stunning Scotland Mountain Hike Photos

Amid filming for Season 8 of Outlander, Sam Heughan found time to slip away and enjoy a hike through the Scotland mountains—and the “gorgeous” photos he posted from the excursion delighted fans.

On Monday, July 29, the actor behind Jamie Fraser took to Instagram with a carousel of stunning nature pictures.

“Scotland ya BEAUTY! ⛰️🌲🌦️🏴,” he captioned his update.

In the first two snaps, Heughan showed his view from the mountains with a hazy background. The next two segments, however, showed clear shots of the lush green surroundings amid a magnificent sunrise.

Fans gushed over the enviable photos in the comments, with one writing, “Thank you for sharing these images. The landscapes are majestic.”

Another Instagram user commented, “Ahh love it Sam! 💪🏼⛰️ What a view from the top. 🙌🏼.”

Someone else declared, “Gorgeous pics & great views. Scotland is definitely a beautiful country. I miss it when I’m not there. ❤️🏴.”

Meanwhile, yet another follower shared, “What a beautiful landscape! But your presence enhances its beauty 🔥🙌.”

This isn’t the first time Heughan has offered a peek into his Scotland nature adventures. In June, the actor posted images on Instagram of a mountain biking session that boasted phenomenal views.

That same month, he also shared snaps via Instagram from when he tried out fly fishing in picturesque Scotland.

Outlander Season 7, Part 2 will premiere on Nov. 22, while Season 8 is expected to drop in 2025.
