Sammy Hagar Spends the Day in Saratoga, New York

Sammy Hagar, known as the Red Rocker, is set to perform on the Broadview Stage at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) on Monday, July 22nd. But before taking the stage, how did the former Van Halen frontman spend his Sunday? He spent it at the track!

With a day off from the “Best Of All Worlds Tour,” Sammy Hagar decided to enjoy a day of racing at Saratoga Race Course. Hagar even had the honor of delivering the official “Riders Up!” command before the racing began. It was an exciting moment for the rock legend and the fans present.

Sammy Hagar, along with special guest Loverboy, will take the stage at SPAC on Monday, July 22nd, starting at 7 pm. Hagar’s band, which includes Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Joe Satriani, is expected to perform a setlist filled with Van Halen hits.

During his stay in the Capital Region, Hagar had hoped to meet the New York State Trooper who issued the now-famous speeding ticket that inspired his hit solo song “I Can’t Drive 55.” Despite efforts to arrange the meeting, it was discovered that it wasn’t possible.

The day at the track was a beautiful one for Hagar, highlighted by some betting wins and an enthusiastic command to start the races:

Hey, Red Rocker Sammy Hagar here. You all know what time it is, right? RIDERS UUUUPPP! Whooo!

With such a thrilling prelude to his performance, fans can certainly expect an electrifying show from Sammy Hagar and his band.
