Sandra Bullock Opens Family Home with Kids for Rare TV Appearance

The team behind the Today Show is going all out to celebrate Hoda Kotb’s 60th birthday, and it includes some very special guests!

Sandra Bullock was one of the stars who shared a heartfelt message for her close friend. Having celebrated her own 60th birthday on July 26, Sandra made a rare TV appearance to share her well-wishes.

The Oscar winner recorded a video message from one of her many luxurious family homes. Sandra looked radiant during her brief appearance on the Fourth Hour of Today, also known as Today with Hoda and Jenna.

The friendship between Sandra and Hoda blossomed when Hoda was in the process of adopting. She reached out to Sandra, who had adopted her own children, son Louis, 14, and daughter Laila, 11. The segment provided a delightful glimpse into Sandra’s home, most likely one in California, bathed in a warm, golden light streaming through French windows leading into a garden.

The star appeared to be sitting in a cozy nook just outside her family room, surrounded by potted plants in wicker baskets. The space was adorned with wool and faux fur accent pieces, wooden furniture, and even a fireplace.

“Hoda, Hoda, Hoda, Hoda,” Sandra began. “I had so many brilliant and funny things prepared for you for this message that were just gonna slay. But you know, girl, I’m just too tired.”

“Tired because I had to make my way up that mountain before you got up there, so I could check out the terrain and see what things look like and just get the feel so I can fill you in.”

Sandra continued to ponder the idea of turning 60, mentioning how society often dictates perceptions associated with this milestone age. According to her, this perception is “weird” but ultimately, “pretty damn great.” She added, “It’s pretty awesome. And for someone like you… when you get to the top of the mountain… everything is amazing because you made it that way.”

Gushing over her friend, she praised Hoda for her work as a journalist and TV host over the years. “Thank you for being so incredible to so many people,” she said.

Sandra acknowledged the challenges Hoda faces in her professional and personal life. “…What you do for a living and how you have to shapeshift every single day, how you navigate your kindness, even when that’s not what’s coming your way, how you are to those you care about and how you keep them safe. And just who you are as a human being.”

Concluding her message, Sandra said, “We’re all pretty lucky to have you, especially your kids. So happy birthday, my sweet friend! Thank you for allowing me to be in your circle; I feel very grateful. And I have your bar set up, up here, so you can look at the view. It’s pretty beautiful, but I need you up here.”
