Sarah Paulson attended a “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” tastemaker event held in West Hollywood yesterday. Cast and crew for the show were in attendance, including Donald Glover.
The “American Horror Story” star sported a pair of lush chocolate brown slingback pumps. Constructed of neutral shiny brown leather uppers, the shoes transitioned into triangular toes, gold adjustable buckle closures, and thin straps that wrapped around her ankles, hence the slingback construction. 1 to 2-inch stiletto heels rounded out the set, offering Paulson a subtle boost.
The neutral hue allowed her more colorful pieces to pop, creating a neutral base. Comparable slingback styles to Paulson’s own hail from brands like Sam Edelman, Reformation, Ralph Lauren, and Nine West, among others. Slingback styles are beloved by many, especially during the summertime. The silhouette has been redone on numerous occasions, updated and remixed to bring the style into the 21st century.
Paulson went for a retro-inspired ensemble, donning a flared high-waisted skirt in red. Tucked into her skirt, the actress sported a light gray collared blouse with the sleeves rolled up. As for accessories, Paulson stacked on various high-shine gold jewelry in a maximalist style, complemented by a brown suede bag in a rectangular shape.
“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is a 2024 action television show inspired by the action/comedy film of the same name by Simon Kinberg. The show centers around the main characters John and Jane Smith, played by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine respectively, who become secret agents for a mysterious organization. Their work puts the couple’s relationship and skills to the test.
Other notable cast members include Wagner Moura, Eiza González, and Michaela Coel. Paulson portrays the therapist of the secret agent couple. The show aired in Feb. of this year and is currently available for streaming via Amazon Prime Video.
