Scorpions Cancel Five Shows in Germany, Issue Official Statement

In a recent announcement, legendary German rock band Scorpions revealed the cancellation of five shows in their homeland. The decision comes after guitarist Mathias Jabs, a member since 1978, sustained an injury that requires surgery and subsequent rehabilitation. This news was shared on Scorpions’ social media platforms.

The affected dates are part of the band’s Love at First Sting 40th anniversary tour. These shows were highly anticipated, but the band had no choice but to cancel due to Jabs’ unforeseen accident.

Scorpions released an official statement addressing the situation, emphasizing the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Jabs’ injury. The statement reads:

We deeply regret, especially Matthias Jabs, that due to the accident of our friend and SCORPIONS lead guitarist, the five concerts on our German tour cannot take place in September as planned and we will work closely with the tour organizer to announce new information as soon as possible. We kindly ask for your understanding from all our fans, all the Rock Believers in Germany who were looking forward to the shows with us.

The canceled concerts were scheduled from September 11 to September 20 in various German cities. Specifically, the dates and locations were as follows:

Sept. 11 – Nuremberg, Germany @ Arena Nürnberger Versicherung
Sept. 13 – Hamburg, Germany @ Barclays Arena
Sept. 15 – Leipzig, Germany @ Quarterback Immobilien Arena
Sept. 18 – Cologne, Germany @ LANXESS Arena
Sept. 20 – Frankfurt, Germany @ Festhalle

Before this news, Scorpions performed their latest show on August 1 at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. The set included 18 songs, and they thrilled fans by bringing fellow German rock star Doro Pesch on stage for “Big City Nights.”

The band’s announcement has left many fans disappointed, but there is hope that Jabs will recover swiftly and that new concert dates will be rescheduled soon.
