My Lady Jane has become an unexpected hit on Prime Video, with fans flocking to social media to express their adoration for its whimsical take on a largely forgotten chapter of Tudor history. The show centers around Lady Jane Grey, King Edward VI’s cousin, who was briefly proclaimed Queen of England before Mary, Queen of Scots, took the throne.
In this imaginative retelling, the story introduces a supernatural element, dividing humanity into ‘Verity’ or ‘Ethian,’ with Ethians possessing the ability to transform into animals at will. As a consequence, they are marginalized by society. The narrative follows Jane, a strong-willed and astute woman, who is outraged by an arranged marriage to Guildford, a charming yet secretive rogue.

Emily Bader plays the role of Jane. The American actress has previously appeared in Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, the reboot of Charmed as Chloe, and Fresh Kills.
Joining her is Edward Bluemel, who portrays Guildford. Fans might recognize him from his roles in Sex Education, where he played Maeve’s brother Sean, as well as A Discovery of Witches and Killing Eve.
Anna Chancellor, known for her roles in Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pride and Prejudice, Rain Dogs, and The Crown, stars as Jane’s stern mother, Lady Frances.
