Maxton Hall has emerged as the sleeper hit of 2024, captivating fans with its Prime Video romance set in an elite private high school. The drama centers around Ruby Bell, a scholarship student at Maxton Hall, who finds herself falling for the affluent yet seemingly heartless James Beaufort. So, what’s in store for season two? Prime Video confirmed back in June that Maxton Hall would indeed be back for a second season. They shared an Instagram photo of James and Ruby with the caption: “Back to school. #MaxtonHallOnPrime will return for S2.”

Given that filming has already commenced, fans are speculating that the show will make a comeback in 2025. Stay tuned for updates!

Season one wrapped up with James and Ruby resolving their conflicts during a visit to Oxford. Ruby discovers that James had ended their relationship under duress—his father had threatened her family. But their newfound happiness is shattered when James returns home to learn that his mother has passed away, prompting him to lash out at his father.

Based on the novel descriptions, and potential spoilers ahead, season two will see James grappling with his mother’s death, which leads to him kissing another girl at a party. This leaves Ruby heartbroken. The novel’s synopsis states: “Ruby is devastated. Never before had she experienced such deep feelings for anyone as she did for James. And never has she felt so hurt.

She longs for her old life back—when she knew no one at Maxton Hall College and was not part of her classmates’ elite and immoral world. But she can’t forget James, especially since he seems determined to win her back.” We can’t wait to see how this unfolds on screen!

According to Prime Video, the series shattered the record for the largest first-week global viewership for an International Original. UFA producer Ceylan Yildirim said: “We began as a local production aimed at the German market. Prime Video embraced our project, generating internal excitement before sharing it with the world.
