Selena Gomez Surprises High School Volleyball Team with a Visit

It was a heartwarming moment when Selena Gomez not only attended the Telluride Film Festival to promote her movie *Emilia Pérez* but also took some time to make the day special for the Broomfield High School volleyball team. They had written a simple message on a piece of paper with a felt pen, placed it on Main Street, and to their surprise, Selena stopped to take pictures with them.

The bright orange poster caught her attention with a direct request: “Selena Gomez, Please sing the National Anthem at one of our home games: Fri 6:00 pm, Sat 1:00 ~ THS Volleyball Team.” Even though Selena did not sing the anthem, her gesture of acknowledging the sign and interacting with the team was more than enough to make their day.

Selena shared the experience on her Instagram, captioning it, “They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!” The post included videos and pictures showing her walking around with the team, hugging them, taking pictures, and signing autographs, capturing the joy and excitement of the moment.

Her unexpected visit became one of the weekend’s highlights. Amateur videos of her at the venue quickly circulated online. In one video, Selena can be heard explaining why she attended the game: “I saw the sign!” Her enthusiastic and approachable demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone present.

*Emilia Pérez*, directed by Jacques Audiard, is a Spanish-language musical crime film featuring a stellar cast that includes Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Adriana Paz, and Gomez. The film had its U.S. premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, following its recognition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won a special award for directing and where seven actresses shared the best actress award. Netflix has since acquired the film, and it will be available for streaming on November 13th.

Selena’s surprise visit to the volleyball game added a personal touch to her busy weekend at the festival and brought a lot of joy to the Telluride community.
