Seth Meyers Mocks Trump for His ‘Thirst Trap’ Comments on Harris’s Looks

Seth Meyers recently took aim at Donald Trump for his fixation on Kamala Harris and her appearance, describing it as “going full thirst trap.” On a recent episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, he highlighted Trump’s continuous comments regarding the vice president’s Time Magazine cover, despite numerous Republicans advising him to shift focus.

Meyers pointed out that many in the Republican Party seem to believe they still have a chance at the upcoming elections if they concentrate on the economy. However, he joked that Trump’s response was quite the opposite. “What if we make it about looks? I go full thirst trap – just flood the zone with different poses,” Meyers quipped.

In a recent interview with Elon Musk, Trump made headlines by calling Harris “beautiful” and drawing a baffling comparison between her and his own wife, Melania Trump. “I saw a picture of her on Time Magazine today. She looks like the most beautiful actress ever to live,” Trump exclaimed, adding that Harris reminded him very much of Melania.

Following his initial remarks, Trump did not hold back, asserting that he is “better looking” than Harris. Meyers showcased a clip from one of Trump’s campaign rallies in Pennsylvania, where the former president boldly claimed, “I’m a better looking person than Kamala.” He further alleged that people have stated Harris’s “biggest advantage” lies in her looks, to which he replied he had “never thought of that.”

This sparked Meyers to comment on Trump’s eccentric choice of words, stating, “As much as Republicans may want a sober statesman to suddenly appear, there’s only one Donald Trump,” labeling him as “the weirdo showman.” He emphasized the difficulty Trump has in maintaining a consistent message.

While it’s easy to chuckle at Trump’s self-assessment of his looks, Meyers acknowledged that he can be somewhat captivating when he dances. He humorously compared Trump’s stage presence to that of a dramatic performer, stating, “I mean Salome and the Seven f*****g Veils, am I right?”

In addition to his commentary on Trump, Meyers discussed the ongoing Democratic National Convention (DNC) happening in Chicago. He remarked on the “new jolt of energy” that the convention seems to have instilled in the party. “It’s gonna be a rock concert, it’s gonna be a rave,” he joked, adding humor about glow sticks and jello shots and suggesting that everyone might “strip down naked for the most respectful orgy you’ve ever seen.”

Meyers also referenced a post on X from Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who claimed that the Kamala-Walz ticket will be entertaining but detrimental to Americans in terms of living standards. In response, Meyers teased, “You’re right.”

He sarcastically pointed out the stark contrast between the Republican National Convention and the DNC, saying, “At their convention, they engaged in sober, mindful discussions of police and substance,” before showing clips of Kid Rock riling up the crowd and Hulk Hogan dramatically removing his shirt on stage.

Through humor and satire, Meyers effectively illuminated the contrasting styles and messages from both political parties while showcasing his unique take on Trump’s peculiar fascination with Harris and the world of politics.
