Shakira to Perform at Copa América USA 2024 Halftime Show

Shakira will grace the Copa América final with a live performance this Sunday (July 14), as announced by CONMEBOL on Tuesday (July 9). This will mark the Colombian superstar’s debut at the oldest national soccer tournament. Scheduled for halftime, her performance will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, an event expected to draw around 54,000 attendees.

CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez expressed his excitement, stating, “Shakira is an extraordinary South American star who has dazzled the entire world. Her songs are sung and danced to in every corner of the planet, turning her art into a global phenomenon that crosses borders and is enjoyed by millions of people. We are sure that her performance at the Copa América USA 2024 will enhance the message of healthy passion and unity through sport.”

Adding to the excitement, Shakira’s hit “Puntería” featuring Cardi B has been selected as the official song for TelevisaUnivision’s 2024 Copa América CONMEBOL coverage.

The tournament, held in the United States, features participation from 16 CONMEBOL and CONCACAF teams. It started on June 20 and will conclude on July 14.

Known for her electrifying performances at major global events, including the Super Bowl and three World Cups, Shakira is expected to entertain with a mix of her timeless classics and recent hits during the halftime show.

Earlier this year, the Barranquilla-born icon released her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, in March. The album achieved notable success, peaking at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and claiming the No. 2 spot on Top Albums Sales. Shortly after the album’s release, Shakira surprised over 40,000 fans with a pop-up performance at Times Square on the TSX stage.
