Shannen Doherty fought her cancer tirelessly until she passed away on July 13. Despite her illness, she maintained a positive outlook on life and even explored romance in her final months.

In her last interview, Doherty discussed the challenges of dating with a terminal illness. She mentioned how some men struggle with the idea of dating someone who has a potential “expiration date.”

During a late June podcast session with Kelly Ripa on Let’s Talk Off Camera, Doherty spoke about her health and dating experiences. “I think it’s hard for somebody like me,” Doherty shared, adding, “Because it’s hard to go into dating someone when you know they might have an expiration date.”

She believed men don’t handle illness and the prospect of death as well as women do. “I don’t think men handle death and illness… as well as women do. So I think I’m a very hard sell,” the Charmed star remarked.

Ripa countered this, saying she was on the lookout for the right man for Doherty. She even hinted about knowing someone who might be a good match, urging Doherty to swear off “bad boys.”

The conversation also delved into Doherty’s long-term friendships and career journey, painting a picture of a woman who remained strong in the face of tremendous challenges.

It remains uncertain whether Doherty was in a relationship at the time of her death. Her last known relationship was with Kurt Iswarienko, whom she married in 2011. By early 2023, Doherty had filed for divorce, and court proceedings were still ongoing when she passed away.

The actress, known for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Two years later, she went into remission. Sadly, her cancer returned as Stage 4 in 2020, spreading to other parts of her body.

Throughout her battle, Doherty underwent various treatments to combat the disease, showing remarkable resilience and courage.
