She Could Arrive by Wednesday!

CNN explored how pop superstar Taylor Swift might drop in to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention, depending on her tour schedule.

The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago Monday night with President Joe Biden’s headlining speech. Expected and unexpected guests from the entertainment world will be part of the event.

On CNN News Central, anchors Sara Sidner and John Berman were joined by correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister to discuss the celebrities set to attend and those who might surprise attendees.

Wagmeister pointed out that Beyoncé has shown her support by authorizing Harris to use her song “Freedom.” Swift, however, has not publicly weighed in yet. Wagmeister reviewed Swift’s tour schedule to find potential openings for her to make an appearance this week or in October.

Sara Sidner shared new details about which A-list celebrities could be attending the convention in Chicago, where the party will formally announce Kamala Harris as its nominee. There are rumors that two of the biggest names in music—Beyoncé and Taylor Swift—might make appearances.

John Berman chimed in, emphasizing the scale of these names. Wagmeister confirmed their significance, sharing new exclusive information about confirmed attendees.

There will be four celebrity hosts alternating each night of the convention. Tony Goldwyn, politically active in real life and known for his role as the president on “Scandal,” will kick things off. Ana Navarro will host on Tuesday, Mindy Kaling on Wednesday, and Kerry Washington on Thursday.

According to convention officials, these hosts will play roles similar to those in award shows, making introductions and guiding the audience through the programming.

Apart from these hosts, there are expected to be other A-list speakers not yet announced. At least one performance is scheduled for tonight, with more announcements expected soon. Chicago will also see a flurry of parties, with Hollywood showing clear support for Harris.

John Legend and Joan Jett are set to perform at a party, showcasing the celebrity action in Chicago. Additionally, Julia Louis-Dreyfus will host a panel with female Democratic governors.

Sara Sidner pressed Wagmeister for answers about Beyoncé and Swift. Wagmeister acknowledged that public interest is high and that everyone wants to know if they will appear.

Beyoncé has given her song “Freedom” for Harris’s campaign, suggesting a potential appearance at the DNC. Taylor Swift, who previously endorsed the Biden-Harris administration in 2020, is currently on tour in London. However, she might attend if her schedule allows, either by Wednesday or later in October when she returns to the U.S.

Sidner thanked Wagmeister for her insights, and the discussion concluded.
