She’s ‘Using Every Trick in the Book’

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are embroiled in a contentious, drawn-out divorce that rivals even Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s. Despite filing for divorce in 2018, the former couple continues to face legal battles, with the latest development seeing Dewan request the dismissal of Tatum’s entire legal team, alleging a conflict of interest. Tatum, however, has labeled this move a “delay tactic.” Here’s what’s happening.

Channing Tatum, who both starred in and co-produced the film Magic Mike, undertook this project while still married to Jenna Dewan. Dewan now asserts that Tatum is “attempting to blur the lines” regarding Magic Mike intellectual property. She claims it was developed during their marriage and financed with marital funds. Dewan has identified a conflict of interest involving Tatum’s legal team at Glaser Weil and Blank Rome, who were engaged in transactions related to the Magic Mike intellectual property.

Dewan recently filed a motion for Tatum’s legal team to be dismissed because of this conflict. She argues that Tatum and his legal team should have disclosed Glaser Weil’s substantial involvement in transactions linked to the community’s Magic Mike intellectual property.

Tatum, on the other hand, finds Dewan’s request entirely baseless. His legal team has labeled the motion “a frivolous filing that has no basis in law or fact,” describing it as “a transparent attempt to divert the Court’s attention from her willful violation of her Court ordered deposition and discovery deadlines.”

Additionally, Tatum’s camp dismissed Dewan’s motion as merely “a delay tactic.” Dewan’s representatives retorted, accusing Tatum of using “every trick in the book to stall this case from getting to a trial.” The legal battle continues to intensify.

However, Tatum seems to have made significant efforts to resolve the matter amicably. His legal team stated that he has “made exhaustive efforts to settle all issues in this matter without litigation.” According to them, Tatum has offered numerous settlement proposals, attended multiple mediation sessions, prepared several drafts of a proposed judgment, and made direct attempts to resolve issues.

As tensions escalate, the hope remains that a resolution can be reached soon to avoid any further ugliness in what has already become a very contentious divorce process.
