Sid Wilson Discusses Burn Injuries, Will Still Perform Sunday

TMZ.com

Sid Wilson is jumping back into action. Despite a recent bonfire mishap that left him with significant burns, he’s determined not to miss Slipknot’s show this Sunday.

The Slipknot DJ appeared on “TMZ Live” to share his encounter with fire in Iowa, which resulted in severe burns to his arms and face. He admitted that he failed to take necessary safety precautions, which led to the accident.

Wilson knows various fire safety measures, such as keeping the gas can away from the fire and parking his vehicle at a safe distance. However, impatience got the better of him, and he didn’t maintain enough distance from the flames. This resulted in the fire shooting up and causing burns severe enough for him to drive himself to the ER while watching the skin on his arms peel away.

Many might assume that Sid would have to miss his next performance, but he insists that’s not the case. He’s set to perform with Slipknot in Oklahoma this Sunday. He plans to use a lot of gel on his face to prevent his burns from sticking to his iconic mask, ensuring he will be ready to go.

Sid’s longtime girlfriend, Kelly Osbourne, also chimed in regarding the incident. She gave him a hard time for getting himself into such a dangerous situation, emphasizing why people shouldn’t “mess with bonfires.” Despite her initial reaction, Kelly has been taking great care of him during his recovery.

Sid shed light on Kelly’s role as his nurse, mentioning the not-so-pleasant tasks she has had to undertake to aid him in his healing process. The efforts she’s made aren’t for the faint-hearted.

As Sid prepares to take the stage once again, it looks like he’s ready to set it ablaze, but this time, only figuratively. We hope the performance goes without any hitches or unplanned fiery surprises.
