Sid Wilson Hospitalized After Fire, But Kelly Osbourne Jokes About It

On August 23, Slipknot revealed via Twitter that their turntablist, DJ Sid Wilson, was involved in a horrific accident. After receiving medical treatment following a fire explosion, Wilson seemed to be in much better spirits. Although his road to recovery will be rough, his partner and TV host Kelly Osbourne will ensure it is filled with laughter.

Yesterday, August 24, Osbourne humorously commented on Wilson’s accident to encourage other musicians to stay away from anything flammable. She shares a son with Wilson and decided to keep things light-hearted by sharing some jokes.

In a series of images uploaded to her Instagram stories, Osbourne created a playlist of tracks apt for the unfortunate event. The songs she chose included Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain,” Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start The Fire,” Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Great Balls Of Fire,” The Prodigy’s “Firestarter,” and Alicia Keys’ “Girl On Fire,” which she matched with photos of an anguished Wilson.

But it wasn’t all a laughing matter. The first post shared to Osbourne’s account was a video in which she thanked fans for their well-wishes before she picked Wilson up from the hospital.

“Good morning everyone,” she said. “I just want to take a second to thank everyone who has been sending well-wishes and prayers for Sid. He is doing so much better. In fact, we are on the way to pick him up from the hospital right now. We’ll give you more of an update later. He’s still in a lot of pain. But, he’s doing so much better. We love you guys. Thank you.”

Wilson has also posted videos to his personal account showing the behind-the-scenes of his medical treatment, transportation to a secondary care facility, and a photo of his injuries.

Although Slipknot has confirmed they will still perform at Rocklahoma 2024, attendees shouldn’t expect to see Sid Wilson behind the DJ booth.
