Simone Biles Shares How She Overcomes a ‘Bad Day’

Like everyone else, USA Gymnastics star Simone Biles has bad days as well. In fact, given her popularity, it might be even more frequent since there are those who criticize her or find fault in whatever she’s doing.

Despite that, however, Biles always pushes through no matter how ugly a day gets. Fortunately for her, she has a support system that she can lean on every time things get tough for her.

Biles shared as much in a recent interview with former USA Gymnastics teammate Aly Raisman when asked how she gets through the hard days. According to the 27-year-old sporting icon, she has a “really good support system” surrounding her.

“I think it always falls back on your support system,” Biles shared. “They’re with you through your highs and your lows, and somebody you can lean on. So I have a really good support system surrounding me.”

Biles added, “So if I ever have a bad day, or even have a good day and just want to cheer up some more, those are my people. That’s who I can go to. And that’s why I am so successful on and off the floor.”

Simone Biles may be widely celebrated, but along with the fans, there are also the critics who keep hating on her. Many continue to accuse her of quitting on Team USA back in the Tokyo Olympics when she actually suffered a severe case of twisties.

Even after the 2024 Olympics, many of her actions were scrutinized, to the point that even her purchase of a luxury bag was criticized.

Despite the unfair criticisms she gets from time to time, Biles isn’t letting the negativity get into her head, thanks in large part to the people she surrounds herself with.

Biles’ husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens, has been really supportive of the gymnastics star throughout her return to the sport. Her sister, Adria Biles, has also been very vocal in cheering for her every step of the way. Of course, Biles’ parents have been present for her as well and continue to care and encourage her.

Indeed, no bad day can ruin Biles’ happiness with the support she has.
