Slipknot’s 25th Anniversary Tour: Setlist & Rare Performances (Video)

Yesterday, Slipknot kicked off their 25th anniversary tour at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, bringing Knocked Loose and Orbit Culture along for the ride. The highlight of the evening was Slipknot’s performance of their entire debut album, a rare treat that included songs not played live since 2000.

The tour is set to continue through August 17, followed by a brief pause before a festival appearance at Rocklahoma on September 1. The second leg of the tour, featuring Vended in place of Orbit Culture, will run from September 7 to 21, with more international dates scheduled through the end of the year.

Slipknot’s current onstage look harks back to their 1999 aesthetic with red jumpsuits and classic masks. This anniversary tour marks the first 2024 performance where their debut album was the sole focus, featuring all 14 tracks from the record. Consequently, the set was slightly shorter than usual, but the rarity of the event made up for it.

Among the standout moments were the live performances of “No Life” and “Scissors,” which hadn’t been played live since 2000. Other tracks like “Get This” (last played in 2019), “Me Inside” (last played in 2015), and “Only One” (last played in 2012) were also revived, to the delight of the crowd.

Corey Taylor, the band’s lead singer, has previously shared his deep affection for “Scissors,” describing it as his “favorite Slipknot song by far.” In a 2020 interview with Knotfest, Taylor elaborated on why “Scissors” holds a special place in his heart: “Every time we would play it, the whole second half was improvised. We played at each other, free form, free prose, everything. It was violent and gorgeous.”
