Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Hospitalized with Serious Burns; Kelly Osbourne Warns

Slipknot’s Sid Wilson is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital for “serious burns” following an unfortunate incident involving a bonfire “explosion” on his Iowa farm.

The 47-year-old musician broke the news through an Instagram video from his hospital bed, reassuring fans that despite the severity of his injuries, he expects to be “OK”. In the video, Wilson, lying in a hospital bed, received medical treatment for burns on his face and arms.

“Hi everybody, I had an explosion in my face. I’m OK, I’m going to be OK. But I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms,” he said to the camera, showing his singed eyebrows, moustache, and blistered skin.

Wilson mentioned that his chest was being X-rayed to ensure he hadn’t inhaled any flames from the fire. Determined to continue performing, he said, “I’m going to be all right, you guys. I don’t care what it takes, I will see you on tour.”

Later, Wilson posted another video while being transferred to a more specialized facility. In this update, he assured his fans that he was doing “pretty good” and that he was in “good hands”. He explained that the burns were caused by remnants of a bonfire he had burned the previous night on his farm.

The comment section of his posts was flooded with well-wishes from friends and fans alike, including notable figures such as Jonathan Davis and Brian Welch from Korn, and DJ Premier. System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian wrote, “Damn brother, that looks painful. Hope you heal quickly. We’re out here sending you positive thoughts.”

In spite of his injuries, Wilson’s bandmates stated that he still intends to join Slipknot for their upcoming performance at Rocklahoma festival in Oklahoma next weekend. His girlfriend, Kelly Osbourne—daughter of TV star Sharon and Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne—also took to social media to highlight the dangers associated with burn piles. “This is why you don’t f*** with burn piles. He literally set himself on fire, exploded everything,” she warned, her face showing signs of stress.

Osbourne shared a poignant moment from the hospital, featuring their young son playing with toys on the floor beside Wilson, who was wrapped in bandages.

Slipknot later addressed Wilson’s accident in an Instagram statement, saying, “Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body. He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes and will see you all soon.”

The heavy metal band is set to embark on a global tour starting in September, with scheduled dates across the US and South America before heading to Europe. The UK leg of their tour kicks off in December, with performances in Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and London.
