Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Shows Videos of Severe Burns

Slipknot’s Sid Wilson recently shared a series of videos detailing the severe burns he sustained from a fire accident. Earlier, Slipknot had announced that Wilson was hospitalized following an accident, and Wilson himself later posted a video from the hospital explaining the situation.

“Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face,” he said in the clip.

According to Wilson’s Instagram updates, he left the hospital the day after the incident and has been receiving care at home from his partner, Kelly Osbourne. Since then, he has posted several videos, including one where he shaves his face over the burns and another showing Osbourne changing the dressing on his arm.

Wilson explained the cause of the accident to Fox News earlier this week. He had been managing a wood pile burn on his property in Iowa, where he lives with Osbourne and their son, Sidney. To speed up the burn process, he poured gas on the debris. Unable to find a branch to light the pile from a distance, he bent down and ignited it directly.

The explosion caused immediate injuries, and Wilson quickly drove his four-wheeler back to his house to inform Osbourne that they needed to visit a doctor. Initially, they went to an urgent care facility, from where he was transferred to a hospital in Des Moines for further treatment.

“My whole right arm is bandaged up, half of my left arm,” Wilson described. “My face is basically melted from the nose down. But the swelling has gone down, and they said the face is kind of amazing that it’s regenerative, it heals fast.”

On August 29, Wilson shared another update, posting from the hospital while getting gauze removed from his burns. He wrote that he’s “halfway there.” The video is quite graphic, so those with a weak stomach might want to avoid watching it.

Many fellow rock and metal musicians have expressed their well-wishes for Wilson. Notable names include Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta, Korn’s Jonathan Davis and Ray Luzier, and Phil Demmel.
