‘SNL’ Alum Victoria Jackson Reveals Inoperable Tumor Amid Cancer Battle

Saturday Night Live alum Victoria Jackson has revealed some heartbreaking news. Doctors have found an inoperable tumor in her windpipe amid her ongoing battle with cancer.

Victoria Jackson, a familiar face from the iconic show, confirmed on Wednesday through a new video as part of her “Is the Cancer Back?” Instagram series that her cancer has returned. She also estimated that she has roughly three years left to live.

“[Doctors] cannot operate and cut out the marble in my chest that is laying on my windpipe, and eventually would suffocate me to death,” Jackson explained candidly in the video. The actress seemed determined to maintain her upbeat spirit despite the severity of her situation.

As for her treatment plan, Jackson mentioned that her healthcare providers were going to give her a “magic pill.” She said, “It’s going to be delivered to my front door within the next 12 hours. It’s based on Ribociclib, and it will shrink the marble, hopefully.” Ribociclib is a medication designed to slow or stop the growth of cancer.

Jackson delved into her research about the treatment’s life expectancy, revealing that patients who take Ribociclib typically have “32.6 months to live — something like that.”

Remaining positive, the Best Years Gone actress said, “I’ve had a fantastic life.” She added, “You know, we’re all dying but when you kinda see in print, you have 32.6 months, it makes you think, ya know? But I wouldn’t change anything.”

Despite her courage and optimism, Jackson noted a few things she would like to experience while there’s still time. Specifically, she expressed a desire to see her grandson, named Jimmy, who is due in October. She said she wanted to get to know him and also wished to see her daughter, Aubrey, have a baby.

Jackson, who first disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2016, was part of the Saturday Night Live cast from 1986 to 1992. She was a regular on “Weekend Update” and known for her impersonations of celebrities like Roseanne Barr, Sally Struthers, and Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Earlier this week, she shared on social media that she was undergoing a CT scan to check if breast cancer cells had spread, showing the constant vigilance required to manage her condition.

In the caption for Wednesday’s Instagram video, Jackson added a dose of her characteristic humor, writing, “Cancer Update: I have 34.8 months to live if I don’t get hit by a meteor, shot by a MAGA hater, get Covid again, or WWIII breaks out.”

Jackson’s fans are undoubtedly devastated by the news but will likely continue to admire her strength and positive attitude. Her legacy in entertainment stands tall, and her honest approach to discussing her health struggles offers an inspiring example for many.
