Sofia Vergara Slams ‘AGT’ Act as ‘Plain Masochism’

On America’s Got Talent, there are some acts that impress all four judges, while others don’t win anyone over. This week, an act managed to secure three yes votes, but Sofia Vergara was not a fan and buzzed to stop the performance early, not realizing her fellow judges enjoyed it.

The act in question was called Nasty the Horse, a Jackass-style performance involving self-inflicted pain. It began with the performer dipping his face in hot sauce before his assistants started launching different objects at his groin. Sofia was visibly unimpressed and hit the buzzer, signaling her desire to end the act.

Throughout the performance, the cameras caught Sofia’s disgusted expressions. She appeared bewildered and visibly uncomfortable. Her breaking point came when a bicycle was dropped onto the performer’s crotch. Given a chance to speak, she expressed her shock and disdain, finding it hard to believe that the performer, who goes by the name Horse, is a parkour teacher. She vocally opposed continuing the performance, labeling it as “plain masochism.” When Horse mentioned that he felt destined for such acts, Sofia sarcastically noted, “It’s a call from God.”

Despite Sofia’s strong objections, she was outvoted. Howie Mandel, known for his affinity for Jackass-like acts, eagerly gave his approval. Heidi Klum, considering Howie’s perspective, also voted yes. This left Simon Cowell, who ultimately added his yes, allowing Horse to move forward.

While the audience present displayed the expected mix of horror and amusement typical of a Jackass-style show, viewers at home largely sided with Sofia Vergara. Many were taken aback by Howie Mandel’s enthusiasm for the act.

  • “You got to be kidding me, Howie!”
  • “The worst act. He teaches kids how to be safe?”
  • “That was ridiculous and never should have been voted with a yes.”

Nasty the Horse is not new to the entertainment world. Before his appearance on America’s Got Talent, he had already been featured on America Ninja Warrior, Go-Big Show, and The Howard Stern Show. He even holds a Guinness World Record.
