Sofía Vergara’s Alleged Engagement Plans with Justin Saliman

When Sofía Vergara’s marriage to Joe Manganiello ended after eight years, she reportedly had a plan for her dating life. She wasn’t going to leap into a new relationship immediately, intending instead to enjoy her single life with a bit of dating fun. However, plans can sometimes take unexpected turns.

The Modern Family star didn’t anticipate that her new boyfriend, Justin Saliman, would have such a significant impact on her life so soon after her divorce. According to an insider from Life & Style, “Her intention going into this with Justin was that it was simply going to be a bit of fun to get her over Joe [Manganiello]. It’s turned into way more than that.” Their relationship progressed quickly, and there are even whispers about their future together.

“Sofía is a romantic at heart and still believes in marriage and she’s in love. The way she’s talking, they could easily be engaged by the end of this year,” the source added. Vergara and Saliman were first linked together last fall, and she publicly expressed her feelings on Instagram in April, while recovering from knee surgery. She posted, “If u ever get a major knee surgery make sure u get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night!!!!” followed by, “Luv u Dr @jdsaliman.”

Another source from Us Weekly mentioned that Vergara and Saliman had known each other for years and that he was unfazed by her fame. “Her celebrity status isn’t something that intimidates him whatsoever,” they noted. “Sofía is attracted to his sense of humor and his intelligence. Plus, he’s a total gentleman and treats her with nothing but respect. She’s excited to see where things go.”

Their relationship appears to be headed in a serious direction, and Vergara is reportedly relieved that Saliman already has a family with his ex-wife Bree Turner, including daughter Stella and son Dean. Vergara has been open about her hesitations to start a new family. She shared with El País that Manganiello wanted to start a family, which didn’t align with her plans. “I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother. So, if love comes along, he has to come with [his own] children,” she said.

Manganiello has since moved on with Winning Time actress Caitlin O’Connor, while Vergara and Saliman are enjoying their own romantic bliss.
