Sphere Announces Wild Anyma New Year’s Eve Show

For those seeking plans for New Year’s Eve, the Sphere has an exciting event lined up. The Las Vegas venue has announced its first EDM show, “The End of Genesys,” featuring Anyma, presented by Afterlife.

A teaser video showcases the Sphere’s exterior with a robot breaking through the glass and revealing the show’s logo. Tickets will have an artist pre-sale starting Monday, July 22 at 9 am PT, with general sales opening the next day, July 23, at 9 am PT.

More details about the event are available on Afterlife’s website. The description states, “On December 31, 2024, witness the perfect culmination of technological forces with Afterlife presents Anyma The End of Genesys,” promising a captivating and unique experience at the Sphere, organized by Live Nation.

Several firsts will mark this event for the Sphere. Anyma will be the inaugural EDM artist to perform at the venue, and it will also be the Sphere’s first-ever New Year’s Eve performance. The event will likely echo the format of Anyma’s “Genesys” show, which has garnered global acclaim for its innovative approach. Special guests are also set to appear.

Anyma is the solo project of Matteo Milleri from Tale of Us, and co-founder of Afterlife Records. Milleri, along with his musical partner Carmine Conte, has been part of Tale of Us since 2009. The duo has released two albums, several EPs, and a few singles. Their latest contributions to the music world were released in 2017, including “Endless” and its remixes and collaborations like “Monument with Vaal” and its subsequent remixes.

At the 2023 Coachella Music Festival, Tale of Us delivered their second performance at the acclaimed event. In his solo endeavor, Anyma debuted with the EP “Claire” in June 2021, featuring the first-ever full-size NFT music video. That same year, Anyma released two more EPs, “Sentient” and “Forevermore,” and their first full-length album “Genesys” came out on August 11, 2023. This album, containing 13 tracks, includes collaborations with notable artists like Grimes and CamelPhat.

The Sphere itself is a state-of-the-art venue in Las Vegas which opened in 2023. U2 was the first artist to perform there, kicking off their 40-night residency on September 29, 2023, and wrapping up on March 2, 2024. Following U2, Phish played four shows in April 2024, and Dead and Company are currently in the midst of their 30-night residency.

The Eagles, after their “farewell” tour called “The Long Goodbye,” announced a short residency at the Sphere due to high demand. Originally planned as a limited series, the residency has been extended multiple times. The Eagles are set to perform 20 shows at the Sphere, starting on September 20, 2024, and continuing until January 25, 2024.

Anyma will be the fifth artist to perform at this high-tech venue. In addition to live performances, the Sphere is also hosting “Postcard from Earth,” a documentary directed by Darren Aronofsky.
