Stevie Nicks Hospitalized After Surgery Complications, Postpones Shows

Stevie Nicks recently shared details about a significant health scare she experienced. The 76-year-old singer addressed her fans during a rescheduled concert on July 24 in Glasgow, U.K., explaining the circumstances that led to the abrupt postponement of her earlier shows in Glasgow on July 6 and Manchester, England, on July 9.

Nicks revealed to the audience that she had contracted a mysterious infection. “I don’t know what happened. I just got this weird infection, and it just went crazy,” she shared, according to Deadline.

At the time of the initial postponement, the “Silver Springs” artist had been staying in a “fabulous castle” in Glasgow. “We get here days early because we want to be here for a few days,” Nicks explained. She then recounted how she felt increasingly unwell, prompting her to tell her assistant in the early hours, “I think we need to go to emergency.” She emphasized the seriousness of the situation by adding, “I’m not kidding! I think we need to go to the hospital.”

With the assistance of their butler, Nicks and her team hurried to the hospital in a BMW Sedan. Nicks spent two days in the hospital before returning to the castle, which ultimately led to the postponement of her tour dates. “I’ve been fighting this for this whole thing,” Nicks said, clarifying, “This whole tour I’ve been fighting what started here. And I would be damned if I wasn’t coming back here.”

The venue, OVO Hydro, where Nicks was initially set to perform on July 6, announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the Glasgow and Manchester shows had been rescheduled due to her leg injury which necessitated a minor surgical procedure and required a few days of recovery.

The rescheduled Manchester concert took place on July 16. Nicks is also slated to perform in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on September 24 and in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on September 28.
