Submit Your Entries Now!

The deadline for submissions to the 67th annual Grammy Awards is fast approaching, with just two days left for voting and professional members of the Recording Academy. Submission entries must be made by Friday (Aug. 30) at 6 p.m. PT.

Major changes have been introduced to the entry process in recent years. Previously, there was no cap on the number of entries a member could submit. However, due to some members overloading the system by submitting numerous entries, the Academy now allows only five “courtesy entries” per voting or professional member before additional charges apply.

To encourage timely submissions and avoid procrastination, the Academy has implemented a tiered pricing structure that increases closer to the deadline. The early bird pricing, effective from July 17 to July 31, was $40 per entry. This climbed to $75 between Aug. 1 and Aug. 22, and now, in this final week, it stands at $125 per entry. These charges apply to entries beyond the initial five courtesy entries.

According to the Academy’s rules, once an entry is submitted, it is non-refundable, even if it is later deemed ineligible.

Media companies can also submit entries but do not benefit from the five courtesy entries. Their fees were higher during the first two submission periods, with charges of $65 up to July 31 and $95 up to Aug. 22. The final deadline pricing for media companies aligns with that for individual members, set at $125 per entry through Aug. 30.

The Academy identifies a media company as a legitimate business that creates, aggregates, and promotes audio and/or video content for various artists for commercial purposes. The company must have nationally distributed products on approved streaming platforms within the current eligibility period. A registration fee of $180 is required annually from media companies.

Submitters are responsible for providing streaming links or physical copies in some cases. Without these, entries may not be screened or verified, leading to potential disqualification.

Physical products are mandatory for five craft categories: best recording package, best boxed or limited edition package, best immersive audio album, best album notes, and best historical album. The Academy specifies that submitters in these categories will receive additional email instructions on the required product and shipping details. These physical submissions should be sent no later than Sept. 6, accompanied by a copy of the packing list.

For six other craft categories, no physical product is required. These categories are best engineered album (non-classical), best engineered album (classical), best immersive audio album, best instrumental composition, best arrangement (instrumental or acapella), and best arrangement (instruments and vocals).

Before the first round of voting, which begins on Oct. 4, each submitter will receive an email confirming the final category placement of their entries.

The eligibility period for the 67th Grammy Awards runs from Sept. 16, 2023, to Aug. 30, 2024. First-round voting is scheduled from Oct. 4 to Oct. 15, with the nominees set to be announced on Nov. 8. Final-round voting will take place from Dec. 12 to Jan. 3, 2025. The Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
